Lots of studies have found that people with higher self-esteem and higher self-confidence are usually happier people too. (You can learn about a few of them here.) But I have always believed that this can work the other way too. I believe that happiness can lead to more confidence.

There’s a bit of science to back me up. A 2007 study found that happier people are more confident in their thoughts.

But I honestly believe this not because of anything I’ve read but because of what I’ve lived! In my experience, when I’m in a happier mood I have more confidence in my writing talents and other skills too.

In fact, I would go as far as to say that joy is my secret weapon against imposter syndrome. And journaling is my secret weapon for tapping into that joy. I want to help you find your happiness through journaling too.

May 1 – 31 I am hosting a FREE journaling challenge I’m calling the Joyful Journaling Project. Each day for 31 days I’ll be sending you journaling prompts meant to spark joy and boost your mood and your confidence. My hope is that this journaling challenge will also simply help you rediscover the joy of writing.

Here’s how to participate:

FACEBOOK: The best way to participate is to join my free Facebook group, the See Jane Write Network. I’ll be posting the daily writing prompts in this group and you’ll have the chance to network with other writers participating in the challenge. Also, we’re going to have a fun kickoff in the group via Facebook Live on Sunday, May 1 at 5 p.m.

TEXT: You can also get the journal prompts sent to you via text. Simply text the word JOY to 205-892-9501 to get started.

INSTAGRAM: If Facebook is not your jam, follow me on the ‘gram @seejavaciawrite. I’ll be sharing the prompts each day in my IG Stories.

If you have a friend who’s looking to get into journaling and writing or struggling with imposter syndrome, send this post to them!

Let me know in the comments if you plan to participate.
