For the first time in my adult life, I don’t have a five-year plan.
People who know me well won’t believe this. In my friend group and even in the See Jane Write community I’m known as the queen of goal setting and planning. My best friend once said to me, “Girl, your goals have goals!”
On the day I turned 11 years old, I decided I wasn’t a kid anymore. I decided I was a woman.
Typing those words makes me laugh out loud. But looking back on that day I realize that even though 11-year-old me had no idea what it really meant to be a woman, I did have a clear vision of the woman I wanted to be.
I’ve always called myself a dreamer. I guess you could say it runs in my family. My brother, who’s a music producer, is quite the dreamer, too. We even have our own hashtag — #PowerToTheDreamers.
But I recently realized I wasn’t quite the dreamer I’ve always claimed to be.
September 8-10, 2019 I had the opportunity to attend Inspired Vacay, a retreat hosted by and for the members of the Female Entrepreneur Association. This year’s Inspired Vacay was held in Palm Springs, California, and those three days changed my life.
