After months (years?) of deliberation, I have finally decided on the topic for my next book and I’ve written thousands of words already. Yay! But I know I must find a way to keep the momentum going. Of course, I’m turning to a planner for help because, yes, I have a goal of finishing and self-publishing this book next year, but you know how the saying goes— A goal without a plan is just a wish.
Recently, I was gifted the Word x Word Accountability Planner for Writers by Hello Story, and this couldn’t have come at a better time!

How I Will Use My Word x Word Planner for Writers
Word x Word is a three-month planner, which is perfect for 90-day writing goals or 12-Week Year writing projects. And my goal is to finish my book within the first 90 days of 2026.
I write for a living, which, ironically, makes it harder to write for myself. After a full day of writing articles for news outlets and content for clients, I’m usually too spent to write just for the love of the written word. But I believe this planner will help keep me motivated and on track.
The daily writing warm-up will get my muse moving. Because the planning pages have space for listing other tasks, each day I will have a clear picture of what’s on my plate that day and can set my word count goal accordingly. So if I have two major articles due, I’m not going to try to make myself write 2,000 words toward my book also.
The weekly goals spread has space for you to mark which days of the week you will write, how long you will write, and your word count goal for each writing session. You can also make note of what your focus will be for the week: ideation, structure, drafting, character, editing, plot, admin, or world building. The daily planning pages have space for you to record your word count as well as insights and next steps.
