Member of the Month: Cherith Fluker

Several weeks ago I thought to myself, “Cherith is killing it these days!” And that’s when I knew Cherith Fluker should be the See Jane Write Collective Member of the Month for February.

Cherith has been consistent on her blog and on Instagram. And she’s been landing brand collaborations even though her blog is less than a year old. Cherith has been dipping her toe into the freelance writing world, too, and she does all of this while juggling life as a wife and a mom and a demanding career in education. I can’t wait to see what’s next for her.

3 Ways to Honor Black History Month

Black History Month is here and while Black history is honored all year long at See Jane Write headquarters, I thought February would be a good time to share 3 ways you can honor Black culture, too. 

In the picture above I’m holding my Black History Month TBR stack. And I realized that each of these three books is a great example of something significant we can do this month to support Black women.

Do you need a February Fresh Start?

I’m a big fan of the mantra “December is the new January.” Every December I encourage the women of See Jane Write to start setting and slaying their goals for the next year long before New Year’s Day.

But some years, February is the new January.

Some years you don’t get off to the great start you’d hoped for and you need to give yourself a do-over.

Some years you need a February fresh start.

For me, 2021 is one of those years. And that’s okay.

If you can relate, give yourself permission to begin again.

As George Eliot once said, “It’s never too late to be what you might have been.”
