This is it! Today is the final day of the 2020 #BlogLikeCrazy challenge.
If you successfully participated that means you published a new blog post every day this month. Here we are at the end of the month and you’re probably thinking, “I blogged like crazy. Now what?”
Aside from giving yourself a nice reward, here are three things you should do after you blog like crazy.
Keep writing.
Calm down. I’m not suggesting that you continue to publish a new blog post every single day. But I am suggesting that you should continue writing something every day. Maybe you’ll work on a book or work on a personal essay you want to pitch or maybe you’ll simply write in your journal. You don’t have to share everything you write. But writing every day is a great way to sharpen your skills, study your craft, and never run out of ideas.
As Mandy Shunnarah wrote in her reflections on the challenge, “The more you write, the more ideas you get for things to write. Writing is a self-perpetuating act.”
Know thyself.
Writers often learn a lot about themselves when they blog every day for 30 days. Kaira Boston, for example, says it helped her get clear on her purpose and her goals.
My hope is that #BlogLikeCrazy will also help you get in touch with your writing rhythm. By the end of the challenge, you should know if you write better first thing in the morning, late at night, or in the middle of the day on your lunch break.
You also should know how often you can publish new blog posts going forward without feeling stressed.
Stay connected.
My favorite part of the #BlogLikeCrazy challenge is the sense of community that it cultivates and the women of the See Jane Write Network Facebook group took that to the next level this year. Never before have I seen the “Janes” cheering one another on and reading and commenting on one another’s blog posts like they did this year.
As Cherith Fluker mentioned in one of her posts, even members who weren’t participating in the challenge were encouraging the bloggers along the way. Dareise Jones dedicated an entire blog post to exploring the importance of having a writing community. Some members even collaborated on Instagram Live chats!
I had thoughts of making this year’s challenge the last one but the enthusiasm from this year’s participants has changed my mind. As long as I’m still here (and we aren’t all zombies from a faulty vaccine) #BlogLikeCrazy 2021 will happen!
If you successfully completed the #BlogLikeCrazy 2020 challenge, please leave a link to your best blog post of the month in the comments.
Thanks so much for the next steps, Javacia! I’m ready to pick up my notebook and march onward! It’s hard to tell which post was my “best”, but I definitely know which one was my favorite.
It was the one that I wrote in remembrance of my mother.

Javacia thank you for this challenge and all that it brought as you mentioned and more. I will keep writing and look forward to continuing to learn and grow as a member of SJWC.
Not sure what best is defined as but will share the post that I think can be most helpful as it lays out a simple yet powerful creative exercise, A Circle for Your Thoughts.

I am beyond happy that I completed the #bloglikecrazy challenge! I’ve never done anything like this before! It was so much fun! My favorite thing to share on my blog would be the last day of November’s post. It’s something that I’ve been learning in my personal life and I enjoyed sharing it.
