Today is the 9th anniversary of See Jane Write or as I prefer to say — today is Jane’s birthday!
Nine years ago today I met about a dozen women for dinner at a local Mexican restaurant because I wanted to start a little local writing group for women.
See Jane Write was born.
Today, thanks to technology, See Jane Write is an international organization with members not just in my hometown of Birmingham, Alabama, but across the country in places like California, New York, Florida, and Ohio and around the world in places like Barbados.
Through See Jane Write, I help women find the confidence to share their stories and I help them develop the commitment, consistency, creativity, and community they need to use writing to make an impact and an income.
I am so grateful for See Jane Write at a time like this. As the COVID-19 pandemic mandates social distancing I don’t have to feel socially disconnected thanks to my virtual village.
I’ve learned so much and I’ve changed so much over these past nine years. I even built a brand strong enough that last year I was able to quit my teaching job to write full-time. And shortly after that, I formed a partnership with Alabama Media Group’s Reckon Women so that I can do even more to elevate women’s voices.
Tonight I’m celebrating Jane’s birthday with an online happy hour, a virtual anniversary mixer with the members of the See Jane Write Collective, our paid membership program. I think I’m even going to put on a cute dress for the occasion!
I’m also celebrating with this announcement — enrollment for the See Jane Write Collective is NOW OPEN!
Join the Collective for access to our virtual write-in sessions, virtual critique sessions, virtual group coaching sessions, and online workshops. You’ll get access to the members-only resource library too, chockfull of tips on writing, blogging, social media, brand building, and goal setting.
Best of all, you’ll have a tribe of women eager to support you as you go after your writerpreneur goals.
Ready to join the crew? Apply to join here. Enrollment for the Collective closes Monday, April 6.
Let’s do this!
Congo!
Congratulations, Ma’am.
Thank you!
