Can you believe it’s April?! Can you believe the second quarter of the year is already here?!

As usual, I’m setting goals for the month, but since we’re here at the start of a new quarter, I thought I’d set some 90-Day goals as well.

My Goals for April

Revamp and relaunch Lady Blogger to Boss Lady. This is my signature e-course designed to help you build your best blog, build buzz for that blog, and turn that blog into a business  without relying on ads or sponsored posts. Host a member’s only writing workshop. If you’re an official See Jane Write member you’ll get details soon.

Do Jillian Michaels’ 30-Day Shred. The last time I did Jillian Michaels’ 30-Day Shred for 30 days straight I went down a dress size. Can I get an encore?

Looking ahead, here are some goals I have for the next 90 days.

Do You Want It More Than You Fear It?

“I wanted it more than I was scared of it,” Mattie James of Mattieologie.com said recently when asked about finding the courage to pursue her dreams against all odds and about being bold enough to be her own boss. I jotted down those words, knowing I’d need them one day.

Talking About Money Makes Me Sick

Talking about money makes me sick — literally. I once threw up before a trip to H&R Block to get my taxes done. (And I typically get a refund!) As an entrepreneur, I obviously have to deal with money a lot. I get heart palpitations and shortness of breath just thinking about doing the bookkeeping for my business. 

When I was growing up my parents had very little money. We were no stranger to eviction notices or having the gas or electric services turned off. And money woes often led to heated disagreements in our household. 

Today I am a proud homeowner and my bills are always paid on time, and yet I still don’t want to talk about money — EVER.

Can You Write Your Life Into Existence?

I’m a girl obsessed with goals. I write yearly goals, monthly goals, and even goals for the week.

But so often these goals get lost in my litany of daily tasks. When my daily to-do lists and my lofty aspirations go head to head in battle, the to-do list wins — always.

Then I think of Octavia Butler, the black woman warrior writer who, as Kiara Collins so perfectly stated in a recent article for Blavity, “literally wrote her life into existence.”
