I never set out to be a success coach for women who write and blog. I didn’t even know this was a thing. But after more people started to learn about See Jane Write — the blog and the membership community — many of these people started to ask me for one-on-one help with launching their blogs, writing their books, or starting their freelance writing careers.
At first, I was doing all of this for free. I was driving all around town after a long, hard day of teaching meeting people for one-on-one consultations and getting paid with nothing but a smoothie and a smile. Then one day a friend of mine who is a business coach said to me, “Um, you do realize that what you’re doing is coaching and that people get paid thousands of dollars to do this?”
WHAAT?!
After this conversation, I started slowly building formal coaching programs and this is my most rewarding and most lucrative business venture yet.
If people are constantly emailing you asking “Hey, can I pick your brain?” you might need to start a coaching or consulting program.
If you want to coach because you think it’s a quick and easy way to make a lot of money you definitely should NOT start a coaching program.
Coaching is hard work. And just because you’ve had success with something doesn’t mean you can teach others how to do the same.
But if you’re willing to put in the work, if you have a passion for helping people and a knack for teaching and motivating people developing a coaching program related to your blogging niche could be the next step in your life as a writerpreneur.
On Monday, September 24 at 6:30 p.m. CT I’m hosting a free webinar called So You Think You Can Coach? This online workshop should help you determine if coaching is for you and we’ll also cover how to find clients, how to build a program that will get your clients results, and how to scale your coaching business.

Hey Javacia, I’m scheduled to work next Monday night. I’ll be taking ASFA on the road to Madison/Huntsville, AL. Is there a chance for me to catch this webinar online at a later time?
Hi, Jaronda. Yes, there will be a replay sent to everyone who signs up for the webinar.
