Juneteenth is a day for Black people to celebrate Juneteenth is a day for Black people to celebrate being alive. And considering this country’s past — and present — it’s a miracle that any of us are surviving, let alone thriving. This year as Juneteenth falls on Father’s Day I want to celebrate the lives of three Black me who mean the world to me. My father — the man who made me a feminist and gave me the confidence to believe I could be and do anything I wanted. My brother @ceejharris — my calm in every storm who I’ve had the honor of seeing be an amazing #girldad. My husband @edwardbowser — the love of my life and a man who, through church ministry and beyond, has been a selfless father figure to dozens of young people.
