She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. — Proverbs 31:25

Hello 2018,

I thought you’d never arrive.

I’ve been waiting for you longer than you know.

For seasons upon seasons, I’ve been longing for a year like you.

You’re the year when I became a better writer.

You’re the year when I finally finished that book and saw my byline in my favorite magazines and on my favorite websites.

You’re the year when I ran 1200 miles.

You’re the year when I read more, slept more, and had more fun.

You’re the year when I took trips with my girls and romantic vacations with my husband.

You’re the year when I had the time of my life.

You’re the year I finally figured out the legacy I want to leave behind.

You’re the year when I became a better wife, daughter, sister, and friend.

You’re the year when I became a better feminist.

You’re the year when I become a better woman.

You’re the year when I prayed more and worried less.

You’re the year when I finally felt at peace with God.

You’re the year when I finally felt at peace with myself.

What are you speaking into existence for 2018?
